Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton College women's cross country team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Hanover, Indiana. Wheaton finished fourth yesterday at the Division III Midwest Regional in Rock Island, Illinois with five runners inside the top-40. This marks Wheaton's first trip to Nationals since 1999.
Two members of the Wheaton men's cross country team will also be competing at Nationals on Saturday. By finishing in the top seven at the Regional yesterday Brandon Mull and junior Brian Wurtz each qualified as individuals. Mull earned a repeat trip to Nationals by winning the Regional yesterday with a time of 24:33.6 and Wurtz posted a time of 25:04.0 to finish in seventh place out of 280 competitors at the Regional.
