Dr. Seth Norton has announced his resignation as the head wrestling coach at Wheaton College. Norton will remain with the college as a professor of Business and Economics.
Norton served at the helm of the Thunder wrestling program for 12 years. Norton, The 2006-07 CCIW “Coach of the Year”, mentored student-athletes to five All-American accolades including two National Champions (
Paul Elsen in 1997 and
Dan Weber in 2001). Under his tutelage Wheaton wrestlers earned 16 All-CCIW nods as well as several All-Region nods

Dr. Tony Ladd says of Norton, “Seth is a model teacher and coach, who is well-respected by his peers.” Ladd adds, “He has been a tremendous mentor to his student-athletes. Seth has brought a quiet confidence to the wrestlers and to the program”. Ladd says that a search to hire Norton’s replacement will begin immediately.
